Corporate News Aus/NZ,
Veolia Transport staff covered by the enterprise agreement and represented by the Transport Workers’ Union and Independent Bargaining Agents have voted in favour of the latest offer.
The final offer from Veolia Transport provides a 4% increase over the next 3 years back dated to 1 January 2011. This represents an aggregate increase for the average driver of 13.9%.
Staff voted on the proposed offer through a specially convened ballot voting process on Monday and Tuesday managed by the Australian Electoral Commission.
The offer maintains Veolia Transport as the highest ordinary hourly rate of the private bus operators in the South East of Queensland.
“We are very pleased to have reached a conclusion both for the sake of our staff and for our customers,” said Mr Colin Jennings, General Manager of Veolia Transport Queensland. “We know this to be a very fair offer which includes significant benefits for staff. I wish to thank our loyal customers who have displayed patience throughout the long negotiation process,” he said.
