Hung Huynh

Hung Huynh, Financial Controller

When did you start with Veolia Transdev, and in what job role?

I started with Veolia in 2005 as a Senior Financial Accountant, working on the Melbourne Connex rail operation.

What's your current job role and main responsibilities?

My current job is a Financial Controller. I am responsible for all of the financial reporting for our eight businesses across Australasia, our financial systems and purchasing.

How did you get to where you are now?

I have always worked in Finance, starting as a Cost Analyst with a manufacturing company. I joined Veolia in 2005 as a Senior Financial Accountant, then held a variety of roles, including Financial Accounting & Admin Manager, before taking on my current role in early 2011.

What's your favourite bit of the job?

As well as working in Finance, I was lucky enough to manage the Administration, Procurement, Projects and Financial systems functions. Through this, I have gained much wider experience of different aspects of the business.

What is your biggest challenge at work?

Keeping up-to-date with any changes in regulations and technologies.

What do you like about working for Veolia?

Apart from the people I work with, I like to work for a company that realises that its employees are its greatest asset.
