We currently operate 19 CityCat and 9 CityFerry vessels, moving more than 260,000 passengers every week during normal operations.
Our team of around 180 people is constantly striving to make sure every customer journey is safe, comfortable and enjoyable. Since taking over the services in 2003, we have seen customer numbers rise by an average of 9% per year. In 2010, we were awarded a Letter of Commendation by the International Transport Forum for our Best Practice in Customer Service and Management. Brisbane Ferries boasts an on-time running record of 99.8% and the latest customer satisfaction measures stand at 86%.
We are delighted that our hard work has resulted in a ten-year extension of the contract to operate the CityCats and CityFerries.
We work hard to minimise our impact on the world around us through initiatives such as carbon offsetting for our maintenance vessels and CityCats, saving water by not hosing down our vehicles during service, and through a growing recycling regime. We are currently working towards national and international environmental accreditation.
Our team supports national as well as local fundraising drives, raising over $4,000 for the 2011 Leukaemia Foundation ‘World’s Greatest Shave’. We are proud to be regular supporters of a local boys’ cricket team as well as international charity World Vision.
